Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Surprise Moriri, explains the role he is tasked with playing in the Downs dressing room.
Moriri is one of the most decorated players in the PSL, however at 35-year-old he is in the twilight years of his career.
Last season he was used sparsely by coach Pitso Mosimane, and only made eight starts in all competitions.
Moriri spoke to Soccer Laduma about his new role in the team now that he doesn’t find himself on the field as much as he used to.
“My role is to make sure that the new and young players understand what the team is all about, and the pressure that comes with playing for Sundowns.”
“I make sure that I calm them down and that they focus in games. They need to know that when they into any game, they are there for a win,” Moriri told Soccer Laduma.
