Breaking: Bafana Star Agrees SuperSport Deal
SuperSport United have received a welcome boost on the contract front, with one of their Bafana Bafana stars penning a new deal at the club.
Dean Furman was due to see his current contract with Matsatsantsa expire at the end of the current season, however, it has now been confirmed that he has signed on for another year as they look to try and mount a late title push in the Absa Premiership.
The Siya crew was informed that Furman, who recently helped Bafana reach the 2019 African Cup of Nations, had agreed on a new one-year deal with the Tshwane-based outfit as he looks to add to the three trophies (2x Nedbank Cup, 1x MTN8) that he has already picked up during his time there.
When contacted for confirmation, the 30-year-old’s agent, Glyn Binkin, said, “Yes, it’s true. Dean is very happy at SuperSport and is delighted to have extended his stay there for one more year.”
Furman reached his half-century for South Africa when he played his 50th game against Libya, and to date is just seven matches away from playing 100 times for his club in the Absa Premiership.
