Thabo Qalinge, who came the youth ranks at SuperSport before making a move to Mpumalanga Black Aces, was welcomed back to the club on Friday after signing a deal that could see him remain with Matsatsantsa for the next three years.
‘Section 10’ finds some familiar faces in Tshwane after they also snapped up Thamsanqa Gabuza and Kuda Mahachi from the Buccaneers earlier in the transfer window, becoming the third player to make the switch from Parktown recently.
Stan Matthews, the club’s CEO, has revealed his thoughts on re-signing Qalinge after several years away, and also his hopes for the season ahead.
Speaking to SuperSport’s official twitter account, Matthews said, “Its good to have Thabo back for a second stint at the club… He has matured and gained immense experience since his first spell with us and we hope he makes the most of this opportunity to show South Africa what he has in his locker and how he can help us win trophies and push hard for a top four spot in the PSL.”
It remains to be seen whether Qalinge will be ready to face Bidvest Wits tomorrow, however Kaitano Tembo will no doubt be itching to see what his new signing can do on the field of play.
