SuperSport United have set their sights on Sekela Sithole to strengthen their squad, as the Tshwane-based outfit aim to parade a new-look team at the start of the 2013/14 season.
Sithole impressed Matsatsantsa with his impressive performances this season. He played for the Old Mutual Academy in the Safa Second Division in the Western Cape, during the 2012/13 campaign. According to a source close to Sithole, SuperSport has shown serious interest in the talented player.
“SuperSport United are interested in Sithole. He did well when he trained with them earlier in the season. They were pleased. They want him for assessment again in June. He was there for a week when he trained with the club earlier in the season.
“He trained with the first team and their U19 side. They were impressed with what they saw. The player was invited for final assessment in June,” said the source.
Sithole’s former teammate, Morne Nel, made his first appearance for SuperSport during the recent Reserve League game against Mamelodi Sundowns. Nel was signed after impressing Matsatsantsa with his inspiring performances at the Cape Town-based academy.
