SuperSport United have told the Siya crew that there has been no approach for their coach, Gavin Hunt, despite the rumours surrounding his future.
The three-time PSL winning coach has recently been linked with the hot seat at Wits, with many suspecting that he may take over from current coach Clive Barker when his short-term contract expires at the end of the season.
However, Matsatsantsa’s director of football, Stan Matthews, has explained that their coach is still contracted to the club and that there have been no discussions regarding his future.
Matthews told the crew, “Gavin has a contract with us and he’s not expressed any dissatisfaction at the club but we’ll see. If someone wants to make a bid for Gavin and take him away, then they’ll have to come down at discuss that with us.
“Gavin is under contract, and after six happy years with us I would expect that, if he did have an eye elsewhere, that he’d give us a good amount of leave time. At the moment there’s nothing official, there’s no club that’s made an approach and he’s not come to us, it’s just speculation.”
Hunt has been with SuperSport since 2007 and has had a largely successful spell at the club. He still has two-years left on his current contract.
