SuperSport United have given midfielder, George Maluleka, until the end of business on Friday to choose between Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns.
Speculation surrounding the 24-year-old has been rife in recent months since it was revealed that he could be leaving Matsatsantsa, with the Amakhosi and Msandawana always leading the race for his signature.
Last night Chiefs confirmed that they had opened negotiations with the former Ajax Cape Town man, and SuperSport’s director of football has confirmed that he has accepted offers from both clubs.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Matthews said, “We’ve given George until the weekend to make his decision whether to sign for Chiefs or Sundowns, if he doesn’t decide then we’re going to take him off the transfer list.
“We’ve accepted offers from both Sundowns and Chiefs, it’s now up to him to make his decision based on his own footballing reasons.”
It remains to be seen what sort of money is being offered to SuperSport in return for the services of Maluleka, although Sundowns are believed to be offering more of a financial incentive to their Tshwane neighbours.
