SuperSport United are hoping to have Thuso Phala and Sameehg Doutie back in time to face Kaizer Chiefs on February 5.
The pair have both been nursing injuries in the last few weeks, with Doutie, who has attracted interest from Wits, having sustained a knock in the draw against Sundowns, and Phala having not played since November.
However, it seems that the pair could both be close to their comebacks, with their head coach, Cavin Johnson, telling the Siya crew that they should be back to fitness within the next week.
Johnson told the crew, “Thuso will be out for about another six days, we’re hoping that we’ll have him back for Chiefs game, the same with Sameehg.”
Phala and Doutie will seemingly not be ready to face AmaZulu next Tuesday as they continue their recovery, though they may be available for action come Matsatsantsa’ second league game against the Amakhosi early next month.
Meanwhile, SuperSport are still waiting to hear the extent of Edwin Gyimah's injury after he was substituted just over half-an-hour into the 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates.
