SuperSport United’s director of football, Stan Matthews, has confirmed his interest in Lebogang Manyama, and says that he is keen on bringing him to the club.
The Ajax Cape Town midfielder was believed to be on the brink of signing for Kaizer Chiefs earlier this month, however the player turned down the move due to having ambitions of playing abroad.
Now, as reported in this week’s issue of Soccer-Laduma, it seems that SuperSport are hoping to tempt the player to Matsatsantsa, possibly offering him a clause that would allow him to go abroad for a reasonable fee.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Matthews said, “Yes, I am very interested in Lebogang Manyama, he’s a very nice player and I am interested in bringing him to SuperSport next season.”
Ajax will have been hoping to cash in on the attacking midfielder, with his contract expiring in June, although it could transpire that they lose him for nothing when the season comes to an end.
