Mamelodi Sundowns are not in any way oblivious to the danger that Orlando Pirates can impose in their Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash at Loftus Stadium tomorrow.
Though Sundowns are the overwhelming favourites heading into the fixture, the Brazilians will be wary of Bucs, and will not take into account that their cross-town rivals have not had a great season by their standards.
Speaking to the Mamelodi Sundowns website, captain, Alje Schut, displayed respect for Pirates.
“Playing against Pirates is always exciting for the players, especially when morale is this high in the Sundowns camp. Everyone is looking forward to the match”, he says.
“We are not blinded by talk that Pirates are experiencing a bad season because that’s not true. How can a team that reaches finals of major competitions, including the Champions’ league be experiencing a bad season? If you as an opponent can’t see that then you’ll be setting yourself up for failure,” added the Sundowns captain.
Sundowns will definitely be buoyed by their positive results against Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic, whilst Vladimir Vermezović men will be set to give it their all in an effort of winning the club silverware this season.
