Mamelodi Sundowns’ on-form midfielder Teko Modise has called on the club’s supporters to come out in their numbers in tonight’s Nedbank Cup quarterfinal against Orlando Pirates.
Modise is once again enjoying the form of his life under Pitso Mosimane and has been instrumental in seeing the Brazilians leapfrog Kaizer Chiefs at the top of the league standings. However, Sundowns take a break from league action and are targeting the Buccaneers’ scalp in order to move closer to lifting the Nedbank Cup, a tournament they were runners-up of in the 2011/12 season.
He told his official website, “Cup games are very tricky. It’s not going to be easy but we will fight until the end and yes we will be ready come Saturday. We have an opportunity just like any other team that are participating in the Nedbank Cup. Our focus is definitely on Orlando Pirates as they are our next challenge."
"We as a team would like to see our supporters coming in numbers to support us on Saturday. This is a crucial stage of the competition where they play a big role. Their support makes us feel like anything we want to achieve is possible,” concluded Modise.
