Mamelodi Sundowns are set to play a series of friendly games in Zambia in preparation of the second half of the 2013/14 season.
The club’s official website revealed, “Pitso Mosimane’s men will be travelling to the country of Mulenga and Kennedy Mweene’s origin to prepare for the remainder of the 2013/14 season, where they are expected to play three matches on the 11th, 15th and 18th against local opposition. The team leaves on 10th and will return on 19th January. Further details for the mid-season camp will be released once finalised.”
In the meantime, the club has also confirmed that some of the players that were struggling with injuries have made progress.
“There was good news at Chloorkop for Mamelodi Sundowns technical team ahead of the mid-season camp trip to Zambia, as a total of five players have returned to full training.
“Bongani Zungu, Anthony Laffor, Tiyani Mabunda, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Thami Sangweni have returned to full training. More good news from the team doctors is the progress of Zambian star Mukuka Mulenga, who is reported to be recovering well and is in the gym doing light training.
“Mulenga joined The Brazilians carrying an ankle injury and had to go under the knife.
"Rodney Ramagalela has today gone for tests as he reported back from the Christmas break no longer feeling pain on his hamstring.
“Rashid Sumaila who suffered a hamstring pull during Sundowns’ last league match against Maritzburg United is still out. Another player still out is Glenn Verbauwhede as he recovers from an ankle injury,” sundownsfc.co.za revealed.
