Rashid Sumaila is on his way back to Mamelodi Sundowns, as reported in Soccer Laduma on Wednesday.
The central defender has been re-called by Sundowns from his loan stint with Asante Kotoko in Ghana.
As it stands, Sundowns will be unable to register the 22-year-old with the PSL, as the club exhausted its foreign quota for the season long time ago.
The Brazilians registered Mame Niang, Cuthbert Malajila, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Khama Billiat and Ejike Uzoenyi as the five players filling up the club’s foreign quota for the 2014/15 season, which is why Sumaila was loaned to the Ghana Premier League side in the first place.
According to the rules, Sumaila is currently ineligible to be registered with Sundowns with the current situation with the players in their squad.
The only way the Chloorkop outfit can register the player is if they are to use him for their CAF Champions League campaign only.
The Siya crew will keep digging for more information as the story of Sundowns and Sumaila unfolds.
