Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, will be hoping for the return of a number of his players that were out injured, for the team’s crucial league game against Kaizer Chiefs this coming weekend.
The Brazilians will be visiting the Amakhosi in a top-of-the-table clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
The game will be an opportunity for the Tshwane outfit to boost their chances of winning the Absa Premiership title this season.
Sundowns are second on the Absa Premiership table with 49 points, three less than their cross-town rivals who opened up the gap after beating relegation-threatened Golden Arrows 2-0 last night, courtesy of strikes by Eric Mathoho and Kingston Nkhatha.
Sundowns will go into this tie without goalkeeper, Wayne Sandilands, who has been ruled out for six weeks, owing to an ankle injury.
Mosimane and his technical team will be hoping for the availability of Khama Billiat and Katlego Mashego to help the team in the chase for the title in the remaining games of the 2013/14 season.
The two players are said to have made progress on their way to recovery, and the club confirmed last week that Mashego resumed training and that Billiat was on his way to full fitness as well.
Both players were some of the top performers for Sundowns during the first round of the season, and the team will be hoping for the players to show the same level of commitment shown by Lebohang Mokoena on his return from injury.
Cheeseboy has been in scintillating form since his return, and is one of the players that Chiefs will need to watch carefully on Saturday.
The last time these two sides met, Sundowns lost 1-0 through a Wayne Arendse own goal.
The match gets underway at 20:15 from the FNB Stadium.
