Sundowns Confirm Monama Move

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that they have loaned midfielder Raymond Monama to University of Pretoria, as announced by Tuks yesterday, but denied reports of Henyekane heading to Steve Barker's side.

Monama has struggled for game time at the Brazilians this season, having made just one substitute appearance in 13 league games for Sundowns.

The Siya crew reported on Wednesday that the player was expected to complete the move before the weekend, and now both clubs have confirmed that the former Black Leopards man will finish the season with the Students.

"Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that they have concluded a loan deal for midfielder Raymond Monama to University of Pretoria on a deal till the end of the season," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Monama, who joined Sundowns together with Rodney Ramagalela and Tiyane Mabunda from Black Leopards at the beginning of the season, is considered an exciting prospect as a playmaker, but suffered an injury at the beginning of the season and has had very little game time.

"He has been loaned out in order to get some game time so that he can catch up with the rest of his team-mates, and the move to Tuks is just what he needed.

"The deal was finalised yesterday, and Tuks coach Steve Barker is reported to have said that they were looking for someone in the creative department."

Sundowns also officially dismissed reports of Richard Henyekane following his teammate to Tuks, adding, "Initially, Richard Henyekane had been linked in the media with a move to Tuks, but this was not correct."
