Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that they will be releasing all five of their players called up for CHAN, despite their game with Kaizer Chiefs.
Sundowns welcome Chiefs to Loftus Stadium on January 23, midway through the tournament, and the Amakhosi have stated that they will only release their players after that game.
However, Sundowns will not be taking the same route, and have confirmed on their official website that they will be letting Tebogo Langerman, Jabu Shongwe, Hlompho Kekana, Katlego Mashego and Bryce Moon play from the start.

They said, “Mamelodi Sundowns will release all of the players that were called up by Bafana Bafana for the CHAN tournament, in line with the decision that was taken during a tele-conference meeting involving Dr. Danny Jordaan, Dr. Irvin Khoza, Mr. Kaizer Motaung and Mr. Patrice Motsepe.”
It remains to be seen whether Gordon Igesund will accept Chiefs’ CHAN compromise or pick other players in their place.
