While Louis Saha’s move to PSL side Wits is up in the air at the minute, it is thought that Sunderland may help to fund the move if it is to happen.
Mzansi’s footballing world has been rife with speculation since the Black Cats’ coach, Martin O’Neill, confirmed that there had been interest in the former French international from South Africa.
Since then it has been revealed that it is indeed the Clever Boys who have been in contact with the Premier League side and Wits’ CEO, Jose Ferreira, has told the Siya crew of a strategic alliance between the two clubs.
Since then the crew have been informed by Sunderland officials that Saha is still contracted to the club at the moment and it seems likely that the former Manchester United man will remain so, with his potential move to Wits being on a loan basis should it happen, and his mother club funding part of his wages.
The details of Saha’s situation are being kept tightly under wraps by all of the parties involved, though one thing that is certain is that if the player is to come to South Africa, then Wits will be his only likely destination.
