Mamelodi Sundowns have received good news ahead of their next Absa Premiership fixture against Platinum Stars, with new signing Rashid Sumaila having received his work permit.
The 20-year-old central defender signed a five-year deal with the side during preseason and linked up with his new teammates during their recent tour of Ghana. He comes highly-rated, having represented his country at U20, U23 and senior levels.
According to sources within the Brazilians camp, Sumaila has been impressive at training and is expected to set the PSL alight.
In Downs' season-opener, Pitso Mosimane started with captain Alje Schut and Wayne Arendse in central defence and it remains to be seen if he will tamper with this partnership to accommodate Sumaila.
When called to confirm the news of Sumaila's work permit , Sundowns’ communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa was in a meeting.
