Both Baxter and Khune decided not to renew their contracts with the Amakhosi at the end of last season after helping them to a league and cup double.
Khune was reportedly linked with a number of overseas-based clubs, however decided to return to Naturena just before the 2015/16 campaign got underway.
Baxter has confirmed the overseas interest in Khune, indicating that he was made aware of reported interest from a couple Danish clubs.
“I knew that there were a couple of Danish clubs, like Brondby, interested in him. Nobody called me about it but I found out through my contacts in Scandinavia. I knew there was interest from Belgium as well,” Baxter told Soccer Laduma.
