Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, Stuart Baxter, will be forced to sit in the stands for the next two games after being sent off against Black Leopards, with Doctor Khumalo likely to take his place on the bench.
Baxter was incensed by some of Daniel Bennett’s officiating during the 2-1 Nedbank Cup defeat against Lidoda Duvha on Saturday, putting his hands over his eyes to symbolise glasses after his side were denied a clear penalty.
Now, as is the case with any players red carded during a PSL game, Baxter faces a two-game suspension meaning that he will miss their next two games against AmaZulu and University of Pretoria.
Baxter’s assistant, Khumalo, is expected to sit on the bench and issue instructions to the players in those two games while the Englishman sits in the stands and watches from afar.
The Amakhosi’s head coach has taken responsibility for his own actions, saying that he was ‘ashamed’ at being sent off, however also added that he was ‘embarrassed’ about the result.
