Steven Pienaar Comments On Kaizer Chiefs & Orlando Pirates Rumours
Former Bafana Bafana captain, Steven Pienaar, has commented on rumours linking him with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The 35-year-old’s contract with Sunderland, who got relegated from the Premier League, will not be extended and Schillo now wants to return to South Africa.
His contract will end on 30 June and he has been linked with many PSL clubs, among them Soweto giants Chiefs and Pirates.
In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Pienaar now commented on the rumours, saying hasn’t been on contact with either club, but his agent is trying to sort out his future.
On Pirates: “I haven’t spoken to him (Irvin Khoza) yet. Last year, as you mentioned, were just informal talks, but I haven’t spoken to anyone from Pirates yet this year,” he explained.
“As a supporter, it would be great for me because I like the club. If it doesn’t happen, hard luck and I just have to move on and see what will happen.”
On Chiefs: “I haven’t heard anything about Kaizer Chiefs. But like I said, my agent is speaking to people and when something is on the table, he will let me know.”
