Pienaar’s future has been the subject of speculation for a while now after it became apparent that his time with Everton was coming to an end, and the Toffees have since announced that he will not be signing a new contract at the end of this month.
Now, with Sundowns believed to have tabled an offer, Bucs’ chairman, Irvin Khoza, confirmed to the local media that Pirates were also talking to the former Bafana Bafana captain about a possible move to Parktown.
The 34-year-old has made no secret of his desire to one day play in a Soweto Derby, however, it is known that he also has options overseas at this stage in his career, and he will no doubt be eager to assess those options before making a decision on his next move.
