Former Orlando Pirates star Steve Lekoelea has paid a tribute to the late former Kaizer Chiefs legend Isaac ‘Shakes’ Kungwane, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 43.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Lekoelea described Kungwane’s death as a great loss to South African football.
“Shakes was a good player, a good coach and a good guy. He was full of life and wherever he was around, you were guaranteed of a good laugh,” said Lekoelea.
“I remember him during our time together at United FC many years ago. He was my coach there and I enjoyed working with him because he was a great motivator and we all loved to work with him. The other day I was watching him sharing his jokes on TV and that brought many good memories we shared during our time at United.
“I would like to join the football fraternity in sending my condolences to his wife and kids, and to his family and friends. I want to say to them that we are all sad about Shakes’ passing and we’re sharing their sorrow,” concluded Lekoelea.
