Komphela: Chiefs Is A Different Animal

Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Steve Komphela said that it is not easy for a new player to hit the ground running at the club, making reference to Siphelele Ntshangase.

Ntshangase has made just nine appearances in all competitions since joining up with Chiefs in the January transfer window.

Speaking to the media, Komphela revealed that it is not easy for a player like Ntshangase to hit the ground running at a club of such big calibre.

“Chiefs is a different animal, Chiefs’ reputation here is not easy for the young kid and sometimes, listen this is an unbelievable brand, it’s huge, it will swallow you,” Komphela said.

“You could come here having achieved immensely in your little environment or in your environment, but when you come here dynamics are different, a reputation takes long.

“We have seen top players come at Chiefs and we say but what happened (to) them? So we need to understand that and coming from Black Leopards, coming from Baroka FC, talent is there. But to come and just hit the ground running here is not easy.

“And it doesn’t only happen with players, everybody else… it is not easy at Chiefs,” he added.

Ntshangase is yet to establish himself as a regular in the Amakhosi side.
