Komphela Discusses Maritzburg Clash: This Is Kaizer Chiefs
Steve Komphela Says Kaizer Chiefs Are Ready For Maritzburg United
Steve Komphela says that Kaizer Chiefs have done their homework on Maritzburg United, and know what to expect from the Team of Choice at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Fadlu Davids’ side are currently third on the Absa Premiership table, however, a victory over the Glamour Boys this evening will see them jump up to the top of the pile.
Komphela knows the club well having spent time as their head coach before making the move to Naturena, and he has insisted that his side are in high spirits after beating Cape Town City and drawing with Bidvest Wits.
He told the club’s official website, “We have done our homework on them. They are an energetic team and play a pressing game under coach Fadlu Davids.
“This is Kaizer Chiefs. We embarked on this trip with one thing in mind, an ambition to win. Given the last two results – winning away against Cape Town City and drawing at home against Bidvest Wits – it’s justified that we are in high spirits.
“Our tactical approach and formation will never exactly be the same… Of course, we have our DNA, but we also analyse the opponents to see what they bring to the match. I have worked at Maritzburg and they might have changed their personnel here and there, but they basically remain the same team.”
“They are very difficult to beat”, he added. “Especially at Harry Gwala. I know the anticipation and the excitement ahead of a Chiefs visit there. It is a big event and the match will be played at high tempo.”
