Chiefs Confirm Komphela’s Immediate Future?

Steve Komphela's Immediate Future At Kaizer Chiefs Isn't In Danger Seemingly

By Soccer Laduma - Apr 11, 2018 07:00 AM
Kaizer Chiefs seem to have given confirmation that Steve Komphela’s job at the club is not in immediate danger, saying that circumstances mean they can’t make changes now.
Komphela is under immense pressure at present as Chiefs look set to miss out on the Absa Premiership title for the third consecutive year, with the 3-0 defeat to Chippa United on Saturday ending with the head coach and his players being pelted with missiles from the crowd.
The Siya crew revealed shortly after the game that a team meeting had been called, and that the meeting was to discuss the failure of the team in recent years.
That meeting has since been confirmed by the club – who said it went on for five whole hours – but those calling for Komphela’s head will not be seeing him leaving just yet.
Part of Chiefs’ statement read, “One of the notable decisions from the meeting is that decisive changes will have to be implemented at the end of the season to remedy the situation. At this stage, circumstances do not permit for us to make immediate changes. However, we are looking to have a complete overhaul of the team before the commencement of the new season.”
Chiefs’ words could also suggest that Komphela may be part of the ‘decisive changes’ that will be made at the end of the season, but the lack of ‘immediate changes’ seemingly points to the fact that he will see out his current contract.

I'M one of those who has the strong believe in steve komphela but i think its serves him right to leave at the end of the season so that other teams can capitalise from this , he had his time to make it a better team that he wanted to see when he was employed which is to have a team that wins in style and i think he did exactly that

This stupid contract is the one that keeps him there. If he had the best interest of the club at heart he would've resigned by now.

This useless team is a big team about what because every season they chase behind the free agent players??? They also claim FNB Stadium belongs to Motaung family.

People!!! Understand that Steve has a contract which ends in June. To fire him now will be suicidal as Chiefs will have to pay him millions. So hang in there. There is only 4 games and +-3 months to go. Stop this madness the club will not be relegated. This is not Platinum Stars. It's soccer, even Man Utd and Chelsea are in the same predicament.

Chiefs vs Platinum Starts, I foresee a record minimum attendance. Only one thing can motivate us to attend, and that is none other than the sjamboking of Steve.

I like it when they look to keep him such that they don't win anything forever.

No big team anymore now. Chiefs fans must learn to accept that. All teams are equal, thats why you see club like Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs go for many seasons without wining a single trophy. The standard of football is very high in our country,so don't expect if Chiefs are playing Supersport United, that the match will be won Chiefs. Expect any result, either win, draw and loose. Nowadays the match is being won by a better team on the day,not by a big team. That is why there are no big team anymore. So chiefs fans must forget about being a big team. We as Orlando Pirates fans, had admitted long time ago that all teams are equal. We are no longer going to a match with a mentality of being a big club,we respect every teams now. So our noisy neighbours must do the same.

He (Komphela) should be given a two year contract extention. This guy is more than deserving to coach a club of Chiefs calibre. If the management see as I'm seeing things,I'm sure he will deliver next season.
