Komphela On Calls For His Exit
Steve Komphela Comments On Talk Of His Potential Exit At Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has commented on the talk in the football fraternity of his exit at Naturena.
Komphela has so far failed to win a domestic trophy, now in his third season at Amakhosi, with the supporters growing frustrated at the lack of silverware.
However, Chiefs are still in with a shot for both the Absa Premiership league title and the Nedbank Cup, although they have a challenge on their hands, with the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates both competing for honours.
Speaking to the media, Komphela said that football is all about pressure, while also adding that he should not be in denial about the position that he currently finds himself in.
“Football is about pressure, always pressure, and you don’t want t do your job and perform your duties with some question marks and as I always said, I hate fielding this question but I will just try to respond again in a manner that’s proper,” Komphela told the media after Chiefs 3-1 defeat to Pirates on Saturday.
Komphela, when asked about whether the talk of his Chiefs’ exit bothers him, said, “The question is so difficult, I don’t want to sound arrogant, you can imagine if the question, does it bother you?
“All that I can say is, we have to be very realistic as professionals and you should never be in denial in any circumstances of scenario,” he added.
