Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Steve Komphela, believes that his charges hold the upper hand going into their league encounter with Mpumalanga Black Aces tonight.
The Amakhosi held on to beat Aces 2-1 in the quarter-final of the Telkom Knockout in Nelspruit on Saturday.
Komphela believes his side will have the momentum going into their league encounter, despite Aces’ good form in the league. AmaZayoni sit in third position with 15 points, while Chiefs find themselves in sixth place on the log with 11 points.
A win for Komphela’s charges would bring them a point closer to AmaZayoni and go a long way towards turning their stuttering start to the season around.
“I am satisfied with the win in the Cup but there are no thoughts of resting on our laurels because we are focused on doing it all over again,” Komphela said on Kaizer Chiefs' official website.
“Aces are a proud club and they will be determined to rebound from their loss, but I believe our performance against them gives us the confidence to go into the match with the momentum in our favour and our aim is to take all three points on Tuesday.”
Do you think Chiefs will be able to do it against Aces again? Who do you think will be on the scoresheet for the Amakhosi?
