Golden Arrows head coach Steve Komphela has explained why he waited until second-half stoppage time to make substitutions in the defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.

Komphela was unable to claim a result against his former side after Lebogang Manyama netted a late winner for the Soweto giants at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Despite only losing by a solitary goal, Komphela only opted to make changes late in the second half.
"It's a question of rhythm and adaptation, the ones on the park had adapted to the tactical switch and change and any adjustment we needed to do a swift, no you don't want to introduce someone who's going to upset the pieces," Komphela told SuperSport
"Because all pieces were acting in sync, now you're not sure if you introduce a new peace will it fit the puzzle but unfortunately with all that, we thought let's throw another one [towards the end], buying time, trying to seal it, see if you can get the winner and it wasn't to be.
"I wouldn't have made any subs [substitutions] because there was nothing wrong."
