Former Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United striker Ryan Moon has joined Swedish Allsvenskan side Varberg BoIS FC from Stellenbosch FC.

Taking to their official social media channels, Stellenbosch FC confirmed that the 24-year-old striker, who was in his second season with the Cape outfit has joined the Swedish top-flight for an undisclosed fee.
“Transfer confirmed. Ryan Moon has signed with top tier Swedish club Varberg BoIS FC. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Ryan for his services and wish him all the best for his future,” the statement wrote.
Moon’s former coach Steve Barker commented on Moon’s sudden exit from the 10th place DStv Premiership outfit, wishing the forward all the best in his European adventure.
"It is always pleasing to see players follow their dreams. Ryan has always wanted to apply his trade in Europe and we're happy for a player like that to go on and achieve what he has set out. We wish him all the best,” Barker told the club’s media department.
Moons departs from Stellies having scored five goals for the club since joining them from Chiefs in 2019 and featured 13 times in all competitions in the 2020/21 campaign.

The KZN-born striker will be hoping his second European stint will yield better results after he spent some time training with Scottish club Hibernian, as well as in Hungary, but nothing materialized at the time.
