CAF African Nations Championship
Teams: Zimbabwe v Uganda
Date: 16 January 2013
Venue: Athlone Stadium
Uganda will be looking to maintain their place at the top of Group in the CAF African Nations Championship when they take on Zimbabwe at Athlone Stadium on Thursday.
Uganda top the group after beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in their opening game of the tournament thanks to a brace from Junior Yunus Sentamu.
Zimbabwe are joint second on one point after their opening match of the competition ended 0-0 against Morocco.
Uganda’s biggest strength heading into this game is their attacking trio of Sentamu, Brian Majwega and veteran Vincent Kayizzi who caused numerous problems for the Burkina Faso defence. Zimbabwe will have to be at their best to keep them at bay.
The Southern African team was not to threatening in front of goal in their opening game against Morocco, but that is something they have worked on in the build up to this match.
A loss for Zimbabwe could well see them unable to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition, so they will be laying it all on the line.
Here is how they line up.
Zimbabwe: George Chigoya, Eric Chipeta, Hardlife Zvirekwi, Patson Jaure, Ali Sadiki, Tawanda Muparati, Danny Phiri, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Milton Ncube, Donald Ngoma, Simba Nhivi Sithole
Uganda: Benjamin Ochan, Denis Iguma, Hassan Wasswa, Isaac Muleme, Richard Kasagga, Savio Kabugo, Brian Majwega, Ivan Ntege, Julius Ntambi, Francis Olaki, Yunus Sentamu
