Promotion/Relegation Play-offs
Teams: Santos v Chippa
Date: 23 June 2013
Venue: Cape Town Stadium
Santos and Chippa United will be looking to stay in contention for promotion to the PSL when they clash in a playoff fixture at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.
The pair of Mother City clubs find themselves well off the pace of Mpumalanga Black Aces in the mini-league.
AmaZayoni boast six points, while Santos and Chippa both have just a point each.
If the two sides play to a draw, as they did when they met in the first match at the start of the playoffs, then it will all but hand Aces a place in the Absa Premiership next season.
Both the People’s Team and the Chilli Boys come into the match off the back of defeats to Aces.
Santos were beaten 2-1 by the Mpumalanga club on Thursday evening, while Chippa suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Jacob Sakala’s team in their last outing.
If one of these Cape sides is to have any hope of avoiding a repeat of this derby in the National First Division next season, then they simply must claim the three points on offer and keep themselves in the running for promotion.
Here is how the line-up.
Santos: Pa Dembo Touray, Jurie Basie, Tobogo Masoale, Darron Omaticus, Xolani Mdaki, Peter Mabaso, Sachin Dawood, Vuyisile Wana, Brian Onyango, Nasief Morris, Ricardo Skippers
Chippa: Tashrique Goldman, Vuyisile Ntombayithethi, Rudiger Gilbert, Msekeli Mvalo, James Okwuosa, Issa Sarr, Stanton Lewis, William Twala, Sindiso Nqothani, Andile Mbenyane, Phumelele Bhengu
