ABSA Premiership
Teams: Polokwane City v Ajax Cape Town
Date: 22 September
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Polokwane City host Ajax Cape Town today in a bottom of the table clash, with both teams still seeking their first PSL win of the season.
After five straight league losses to start their season, the home team will be desperate for a result to get their PSL campaign back on track.
The club opted to let go of coach Duncan Lechesa a week ago after their fourth straight loss, and their fitness coach, Brazilian Eduardo Langer Schoeler, was in charge during their mid-week defeat to Orlando Pirates.
Ajax, who have had their own problems again this season, will hope their youngsters can rise to the occasion, and they can build on the promising mid-week performance where they drew 2-2 with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ajax also drew with Golden Arrows in their opening fixture, but have lost two games already. They have played one less fixture than their opponents today.
Since relocating and renaming the club, these two teams have never met. However when City were known as Bay United, and based in Port Elizabeth, they suffered two defeats to Ajax.
This is how they line-up:
Polokwane City: Modiri Marumo, Tlou Molekwane, Thapelo Tshilo, Million Mkhabela, Maxwell Molala, Itumeleng Motsiane, Galabgwe Moyana, Kabelo Lichaba, Thabo Rakhale, Essau Kanyenda, Thobani Mncwango
Ajax Cape Town: Brandon Peterson, Dominic Isaacs, Cecil Lolo, Ritus Krjauklis, Thato Mokeke, Abbubaker Mobara, Michael Kwong, Bantu Mzwakali, Eleazar Rogers, Lebogang Manyama, Keagan Dolly
