Starting XI: Gabon V Burundi

African Nations Championship

Teams: Gabon v Burundi

Date: 14 January 2014

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

The second game of Group D in the CAF African Nations Championship will see Gabon take on Burundi at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.

This is the second of two games played at the Peter Mokaba stadium on the day with Congo DR beating Mauritania 1-0 earlier on, which means a win for either side will see level on points with the DRC. A win by more than one goal will see them top the group.

This match will pit the Gabon Panthers against CHAN debutants Burundi in a highly anticipated clash.

Gabon’s first appearance at CHAN was in 2011 in Sudan where they failed to make it out of the group stage. They will be determined to improve on that performance.

Gabon showed real class by beating African giants Cameroon to qualify for the tournament in South Africa and will be hoping to bring that form into their first game.

For Burundi, it will is their first time at CHAN and they will be looking to make a name for themselves, especially after beating Kenya to qualify for the tournament.

Here is how they line up.

Gabon: Parfait Bitseki Moto, Aaron Billy Appindangoye Edmond Mouelet, Erwin Blynn Obame Nguema, Cyrille Engozo'o Avebe, Djesnot Kabi Tchen, Romuald Ewuota Ntsitsigui, Franck Obame Engonga, Mpaga Alain Djissikadie, Bonaventure Sokambi, Daniel Cousin

Burundi: Arthur Arakaza, Gael Duhayindavyi, Fiston Abdoul, Célestin Habonimana, Hassan Hakizimana, Issa Hakizimana, Frederic Nsabiyumva, Rashid Harerimana, Christophe Nduwarugira, Selemani Ndikumana, Yussuf Ndikumana
