Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has made a number of changes to his side ahead of their Chan 2014 battle with Mali on Wednesday at the Cape Town Stadium.
Vuyo Mere comes in to replace Bryce Moon, while Sibusiso Vilakazi, Lerato Chabangu and Katlego Mashego drop out for Matthew Pattison, Lindokuhle Mbatha and Edward Manqele.
The impressive Thato Mokeke retains his place in the squad, as does goal scorers Bernard Parker and Hlompho Kekana. The experienced Siphiwe Tshabalala, who put in a superb performance against Mozambique, also remains a key player in attack for Bafana.
The South Africans come into the game off of an opening 3-1 win over Mozambique, but Igesund has admitted that they face a stern test against a powerful Mali side.
The Eagles got their campaign off to the perfect start when they beat African champions Nigeria 2-1 in a game where they were cleary the better side on the day.
A victory for Bafana will ensure that they remain top of the group ahead of their final clash against the Super Eagles, but a draw or loss for the tournament hosts could leave the group wide open.
