2013 AFCON
Teams: Algeria v Cote d'Ivoire
Date: 30 January 2013
Venue: Royal Bafokeng Stadium
Ivory Coast may have already booked their spot in the next round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but they will be hoping to close the group stages in style when they take on Algeria.
The star-studded Elephants recorded victories over Togo and Tunisia to move to the top of the group, while Algeria have failed to win in their opening two games.
Algeria are already eliminated from the group as either Togo or Tunisia will accompany the Elephants into the next round.
Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi is expected to rest some of his players to give his fringe stars a taste of the action.
Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic, on the other hand, will be looking to head home on a positive note by securing an unlikely result and salvaging some pride in Rustenburg.
Standard Bank Key Player:
Didier Drogba. The former Chelsea star, who recently made a move to Galatasaray, is one of the deadliest strikers in Africa, if not the world, and with him in the team Algeria will have their work cut out at the back.
This is how they line up:
Algeria: M'Bolhi, Mesbah, Belkalem, Mostefa Sbaa, Halliche, Boudebouz, Lemmouchia, Guedioura, Lacen, Soudani El Arabi, Slimani.
Ivory Coast: Daniel Yeboah, Arthur Boka, Kolo Toure, Ismael Traore, Igor Lolo; Romaric, Abdul Razak; Salomon Kalou, Didier Drogba, Arouna Kone, Wilfried Bony.
