Injuries have forced Free State Stars’ technical team to reshuffle the squad in the absence of key players in certain positions.
Ea Lla Koto have been forced to prepare for games without some of the team’s key players.
Defenders Mbuyiselo Sambu, Daniel Cardoso and Themba Shabalala are some of the players that have been struggling with injuries this season.
The situation resulted in the technical team gambling by playing Enva Wiltwer at the back. Wiltwer, who was signed as a midfielder when he joined Stars from Thanda Royal Zulu, has been moved to fill the gap at right-back.
The 30-year-old made his first league start of the season playing at right-back in the game against Golden Arrows.
The Pietermaritzburg-born player also played in defence in the Telkom Knockout win against AmaZulu last weekend.
The gamble has worked so far, as the Bethlehem-based outfit won both games with the former Maritzburg United player playing at the back.
