Platinum Stars midfielder Issa Sarr was delighted to win his first trophy in South Africa as he helped Dikwena to the MTN8 title on Saturday night.
The hard-working midfielder played a key role in the victory for Stars as they went the distance before beating Orlando Pirates 3-1 in a shootout - after the game ended 1-1.
"I am happy to win my first cup in South Africa, and I am happy to be Man of the Match. It was very tough because Pirates are a big team," he said.
"I just followed the instructions of the coach, just playing simple and playing forward."
Former Pirates man Patrick Malokase was equally delighted with the outcome, adding, "It means a lot. Honestly, we have been working very hard - starting from last season. This was just a bonus for us. Glory to God.
"We worked hard as a team. I thought it was going to be difficult. Knowing that I won this cup with them (Pirates) twice, I think the luck is with me. I went to Platinum Stars and I won it. The guys did well as a team... I've got no words."
