Following their horror display in midweek, Orlando Pirates bounced back to end the weekend in second place with a 2-1 over Maritzburg United on Saturday.

Goals in either half from Thabiso Kutumela and Happy Jele steered them all the way to the maximum points, despite the best efforts of Siyanda Xulu late on.
Coach Milutin Sredojevic says they needed to cure their supporters and say sorry for their 3-0 loss suffered to Ajax Cape Town in their last encounter.
“We are football people and we needed the medicine (to say sorry to our supporters) for what happened to us on Wednesday. We had to say sorry to our supporters with this result,” Sredojevic told SuperSport after the game.
Regarding the result, the Serb believes it was extremely vital to secure the maximum points despite playing their third match in a short space of time.
“Very important three points against a competitive team. This is our third match in seven days. We wanted to keep possession. With them and their possession game, they always keep the shape with 10 to 9 players behind the ball and top class counterattacks.
“It’s very hard to play them. I’m very happy the boys threw everything on the field. The first and second goal is what we practiced at training.
They survived a few scary moments, three to be exact with the Team of Choice hitting the post three times, but succumbed to reducing the deficit.
“Football once again showed us that 2-0 is the most dangerous result. It show you one thing and leave you with nothing at the end.
“But I forgive the boys because every match is a lesson. We shall use that in the remaining games to be much better,” Sredojevic said.
