South Africa’s U23 side have been drawn against the hosts, Senegal, in Group A of the U23 African Cup of Nations.
The tournament, which starts in late November, serves as qualification for the 2016 Olympics, with the top three teams making the trip to Rio next year.
South Africa and Senegal are joined in Group A by Tunisia and Zambia, while Group B consists of Egypt, Algeria, Mali and Nigeria.
The competition is scheduled to begin on November 28th and will run through until December 12th, with all eight teams battling it out for a place at the 2016 Olympic games.
Rules state that the top two teams in each group will make it into the semifinals, while the semifinal losers will then go on to play in a third-place playoff to decide who gets the final spot for the Olympics in Brazil next year.
