Big Names Suspended In PSL, Wits Duo Miss Pirates Clash
Six big-name players will be forced to sit out the upcoming Absa Premiership midweek games, with four of the top five clubs short of at least one of their stars.
Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United and Cape Town City will all be without key players going into this week’s crunch fixtures, with Wits and SuperSport missing two of their first teamers for the games.
The Clever Boys, who beat Masandawana earlier this week, will be without Daine Klate following his red card in Braamfontein, while Granwald Scott misses out after picking up his fourth yellow of the campaign. Neither player will be available against Orlando Pirates.
Similarly, Fares Hachi, a man sent off a few minutes before Klate, is also suspended for Sundowns’ game with Platinum Stars, although Pitso Mosimane has Tebogo Langerman available for selection.
SuperSport, who have a hectic schedule of games due to their CAF and Nedbank Cup commitments, will have to do without their captain, Dean Furman, as well as Reyaad Pieterse against Celtic this evening. Although the forced break may give the players some time to rest.
Lastly, Cape Town City will be missing Tshepo Gumede for only the second time in the league this season after he was given his eighth yellow against Maritzburg on Monday.
There will be league games every day from tonight until May 8th as the Absa Premiership reaches its climax.
