Solomons: We Respect AmaZulu

Polokwane City coach, Boebie Solomons, has revealed to the Siya crew that they plan to keep their feet on the ground when they face AmaZulu tonight at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Solomons will be in charge of his third game for the PSL rookies and has already claimed four points in two games. The former Bloemfontein Celtic assistant has bagged a credible 4 points thus far after beating Mamelodi Sundows 1-0, followed by a goalless draw against Wits.

He now aims to get another win when the Polokwane based-side host Usuthu.

The Cape Town-born mentor revealed to the Siya crew that he has prepared his team well, as he focused more on his defending and attacking aspects of the game.

“We’ve worked on our defending. I want to see a more organised defence as well as our attacking. I’d like to see my team creating goal scoring opportunities and actually burying those chances. I hope to see that in our game tonight.

“I feel great to have brought some kind of stability in the team especially winning against Sundowns which is one of the strongest sides in Africa. We’ve done well so far but we must keep our feet firmly on the ground as we’ve got a long way to go. One swallow doesn’t make summer,” Solomons told Siya crew.

Although AmaZulu have conceded nine goals in their last two outings, a 7-1 mauling by Sundowns and a 2-0 loss at the hands of neighbours, Maritzburg United, Solomons insists that their game will be a different affair.

“We have to try and score as many points as we can at home, that gives us an edge but playing against Amazulu will not be easy. My players are enthusiastic, eager to learn and their response is positive so far. We need to ensure that we don’t underestimate Amazulu, they’ll put everything into the game,” added the former Celtic assistant.

'Rise and Shine' will face Usuthu without the services of midfielder Thabo Rakhale and striker Kekaetswe Moloi, who are out on toe and foot injuries respectively.
