Polokwane City coach, Boebie Solomons, insists that his club will not be relegated this season, despite them failing to win their last match.
Rise and Shine were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow PSL strugglers, Free State Stars, on Saturday night to maintain the status quo at the bottom of the Absa Premiership table.
City are currently sitting at position 15, one point adrift of Ea Lla Koto. City’s next opponents, the University of Pretoria, are also looking nervously over their shoulders after dropping points at the weekend.
“I have said it time and time again that we will not get relegated. My boys are simply going through a lean patch but with United and Swallows losing their matches over the weekend, we still have a big fight to put out. We will not be fooled by Arrows losing their matches. All we have to do is to plan well and hopefully we apply all the tactics against a team we managed to hand a 3-0 drubbing during the first round.
“A place for the play-offs is something we must try to avoid. This therefore means that we must play a game of our lives when we visit University of Pretoria at the Tuks Stadium on Saturday. We have to go all out if we are to see our dream of survival coming alive,” said Solomons.
