Solinas: It Was A Bitter Defeat

Free State Stars coach Giovanni Solinas believes his team deserved at least a point against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Ea Lla Koto were edged out 1-0 by their hosts at Orlando Stadium in the Absa Premiership after Tendai Ndoro netted the tie's only goal.

Solinas was proud of his players' performance especially in the second half, and thinks they can feel a bit unlucky not to come away with a point.

He said: "Fantastic second half. My team dominated the second half, created a chance and played very well.

"I'm a little bit disappointed with the result. It's a bitter defeat. We have to accept the defeat. This is football.

"But I'm very proud of my players. It was a big performance. They played well today.

"In the manner my team played, maybe we don't deserve to lose the game, because in the second half Orlando Pirates only played on the counter-attack, but this is football."
