PSL
SL Team Of The Week

Soccer Laduma brings you the country's most prestigious and authoritative 'Team of the Week'!
This week's selection is based on players’ performances from mid-last week and the past weekend's Nedbank Cup round of fixtures.
Absa Premiership sides, Orlando Pirates and Mpumalanga Black Aces commenced their Nedbank Cup Last 32 ties with wins over Tornado FC and Maritzburg United respectively. The Buccaneers, who are the defending champions saw off the little known outfit 4-0, while AmaZayoni narrowly beat their fellow PSL side 2-1.
PSL defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns claimed a 2-0 win over NFD campaigners, Thanda Royal Zulu. Absa Premiership pace-setters, Kaizer Chiefs also claimed a convincing 4-0 win over Edu Sports FC, with Siphelele Mthembu netting a hat-trick for the Glamour Boys. Ajax Cape Town were the biggest winners of the last 32 stage, running riot in Kimberley by demolishing Mainstay United 9-1. Platinum Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic put three past their opponents with no replies. Dikwena got the better of Magic FC and Phunya Sele Sele beat Roses United.
Black Leopards thumped FC Cape Town 6-2 in Thohoyandou and Jomo Cosmos narrowly beat Phiva Young Stars 2-1 after extra time. Bidvest Wits had to count on a penalty shoot-out to claim a 4-2 victory over Free State Stars. The biggest shock result came in the KZN Derby when NFD leaders, Golden Arrows got the better off their PSL counterparts AmaZulu, coming from behind to claim a 2-1 win at the Princess Magogo Stadium. Chippa United also exited the competition after they were beaten 4-2 in spot kicks by KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe league outfit, Natal United.
The team will always be set up in a standard 4-4-2 formation, selected by Soccer Laduma's team of respected journalists.
Simply put, the 'Team of the Week' reflects the best 11 players that competed during the weekly cycle and is published in the latest Soccer Laduma out every Wednesday.
