The Past 6 Coaches Of The Month, Where Are Their Teams Now?

With the Premier Soccer League yet to announce the Coach of the Month award for March, Soccer Laduma takes a look at the six coaches who walked away with the accolade in previous months.

As we approach the business end of the season, coaches and players will be looking forward to receiving their individual awards at the annual PSL ceremony.

While the Absa Premiership coach of the month for March is yet to be announced, here are the six coaches who have since received the monthly award this season and where their respective teams are currently sitting on the Absa Premiership league standings.

August 2018:

For the month of August, Steve Komphela walked away with the accolade while still the head coach of Bloemfontein Celtic. The mentor has since parted ways with Siwelele, with the team currently at 10th place on the log. Komphela is the current coach of Golden Arrows, who are in ninth place on the log. 

September 2018:

Giovanni Solinas was crowned the coach of the month for September with Kaizer Chiefs. The Italian has since parted ways with the club. Amakhosi are seventh place on the league standings.

October 2018:

Jozef Vukusic, who is the current head coach of Polokwane City walked away with the award for October. Polokwane are currently in fourth place on the league standings.

November 2018:

Cavin Johnson received the monthly award for November with AmaZulu FC. The KwaZulu Natal-based club is currently seated at 11th place on the league standings. 

December 2018 and January 2019:

Dylan Kerr was named coach of the month for both December and January. Black Leopards are currently in 12th place on the Absa Premiership log.

February 2019:

Pitso Mosimane was named February’s Absa Premiership coach of the month. Mamelodi Sundowns are currently in second place on the league standings with three games in hand.
