As players’ market values take a drop during the suspension of domestic football, Soccer Laduma takes a look at which players make up the current most expensive XI in the Premier Soccer League.
According to the figures on transfermarkt.com, SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams, is currently the most expensive goalkeeper in the PSL, with a market value of €950 000 (±R19.4m).
Thereafter, Mamelodi Sundowns’ Thapelo Morena, Bidvest Wits’ Buhle Mkhwanazi, Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatshwayo and Sifiso Hlanti make up the most expensive defence according to the website.
Morena is currently valued at €1.1m (±R22.4m), Tyson at €1m (±R20.4m), Mkhwanazi at €900 000 (±R18.3m) and Hlanti at €1m (±R22.4m).
Meanwhile, the most expensive midfield has SuperSport’s Teboho Mokoena valued at €950 000 (±R19.4m), Sundowns’ Andile Jali at €950 000 (±R19.4m) and Kaizer Chiefs’ Khama Billiat in a number 10 position valued at €1.5m (±R30.6m).
On the wings is Sundowns’ Themba Zwane at €1m (±R22.4m), Orlando Pirates’ Vincent Pule at €725 000 (±R14.8m) and in the number nine position is Black Leopards’ Mwape Musonda who is valued at €750 000 (±R15.3m).
