The transfer window is in its final stages and clubs all over the top flight have already invested a lot of money into strengthening their teams for the 2020/21 season, but who currently has the most expensive squad?

According to the figures on the German website, transfermarkt.com, Mamelodi Sundowns have remained the club with the most expensive squad for quite some time now.
The Brazilians hold the highest market value of €19.70 million (±R361.5 million), evident with the number of signings they have made over the past few weeks.
Making up the top three is Orlando Pirates who are ranked second most expensive, with a squad market value of €12.63 million (±R231.7 million).
Pirates have also made several signings in the current window, bolstering their squad with the likes of Thulani Hlatshwayo and Deon Hotto, who are also ranked amongst some of the most expensive players in the league.

At third position is Kaizer Chiefs, who have made no new signings due to their two-window transfer ban. Amakhosi’s current market value stands at €10.25 million (R118.10 million.)
Meanwhile, according to transfermarkt.com. the clubs with the lowest valued teams are Baroka FC (±R72.48 million), TS Galaxy (±R66.06 million) and Chippa United (±R 63.31 million).
