The latest African rankings have been updated before the current match week gets underway and Soccer Laduma takes a look at where the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are ranked.
According to the ranking system on footballdatabase.com, Sundowns are still the number one South African club on the African ranking, coming in at 12th place for quite some time now.
The Brazilians will need to leapfrog Dynamos from Zimbabwe and Tunisian side, Club Sportif Sfaxien in order to get into the top 10 African clubs on the ranking system, although, should Sundowns continue with good results, the club could find themselves there by the end of the season.
On the other hand, Chiefs are currently still at 19th place compared to last week on the rankings, with Pirates dropping from 20th to 21st, and it remains to be seen how close the two Soweto giants will get to the top 10.
Bidvest Wits are also not too far off, and are still placed at 23rd place on the rankings, with the Students being the fourth highest ranked South African club.
