There have been several high profile signings, which took place in the past year, and Soccer Laduma takes a look at five of the top transfers according to their market values at the time.
The likes of Percy Tau, Ayanda Patosi and Siphiwe Tshabalala all made moves abroad in the past year, with others such as Khama Billiat and Andile Jali moving to clubs within the Premier Soccer League.
According to the market values on transfermarkt.com, here are what the likes of Tau and Jali were valued in the market when they completed their respective moves in the past year.
Percy Tau: Mamelodi Sundowns to Brighton & Hove Albion
Tau made the move from Sundowns to Brighton in July last year, where he was subsequently sent out on loan to Royale Union Saint Gilloise. At the time, Tau’s market value was €2 million (±R31.5 million).
Khama Billiat: Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs
Billiat made the move from Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs in July 2018, where his market value at the time was €1.8 million (±R29.2 million).
Andile Jali: KV Oostende to Sundowns
Jali returned to Mzansi last year, July, where he put pen to paper on a contract with Mamelodi Sundowns. At the time, Jali’s market value was €1.3 million (±R20.5 million).
Ayanda Patosi: Cape Town City to Esteghlal FC
Patosi moved from City during the January transfer window this year, where his market value at the time was €1 million (±R15.7 million).
Gift Motupa: Chippa United to Bidvest Wits
Motupa moved from Chippa to Wits during the July/August transfer window last year where his market value at the time was €750 thousand (±R11.8 million).
