With the January transfer window currently underway, Soccer Laduma takes a look at how the ‘big three’ have bolstered their squad in last year’s January transfer window and who has been their most valuable signing so far.
Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are yet to announce new signings in the current transfer window, however, Mzansi’s ‘big three’ were quite busy in last year’s January window.
Sundowns’ 2018 January signings:
Jeremy Brockie, Aubrey Ngoma, Siyabonga Zulu, Gaston Sirino, Katlego Otladisa.
So far, Sirino seems to be Sundowns’ most valuable signing, with the player having established himself as a key player in the team, scoring five goals in all competitions so far.
Pirates’ 2018 January signings:
Augustine Mulenga, Diamond Thopola, Xolani Mlambo, Phetso Maphanga, Siphumelele Mbulu.
Both Mulenga and Mlambo have made the most consistent appearances for Pirates ever since their arrival at the club.
Chiefs’ 2018 January signings:
Siphelele Ntshangase, Leonardo Castro, Kabelo Mahlasela, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya (promoted)
Castro has been influential to the Amakhosi attacking department, having consistently found his way into the starting line-up, when fit.
Now, it remains to be seen how Mzansi’s big three will bolster their squad in the coming weeks.
